Goodbye Manifesto

Goodbyes are always sad, and it’s no different with Manifesto. Ryan Maybee’s Crossroads District speakeasy apparently couldn’t withstand the closure of its upstairs anchor, 1924 Main, and went “on vacation” earlier this month. This, just after being tipped as one of the country’s best bars by both Esquire and Nightclub & Bar Magazine. So long Smokin’ Choke, Old Oaxacan, Ward & Precinct and the rest of the menu. Or perhaps not. Maybee and bartender Beau Williams are taking over the bar at Screenland Armour Wednesday night. If you can’t make it, check the Traveling Cocktail Club‘s Facebook page for future dates. And Maybee tells me he’s determined to reopen Manifesto. So maybe it’s more see-you-later than goodbye? We can only hope.
